The San Antonio Chapter of the Emergency Nurses Association

The San Antonio ENA (SAENA) strives each year to bring quality education to our region to enhance the patient care delivery by our nurses. It is our intention that emergency nurses are certified in that delivery to enhance the quality of care for our community and patients.  From 2012-2015 the SAENA provided more than 837 hours of continuing education including certification review courses.  In 2015, we continued to expand educational opportunities for our members and regional nurses by increasing our annual educational conference to 2 ½ days and providing skill workshops, a cadaver lab and emergency department and pre-hospital lectures. In 2016, the expansion continues and the conference will include Emergency, Critical Care and Pre-hospital topics. We hope that each of you take advantage of these opportunities to advance professionally as well as grow personally.

In addition to educational opportunities, the SAENA provides four $1,000 academic scholarships per year to assist applicants pursue their nursing education.  The scholarships are for a LVN / LPN or non-nurse seeking initial RN degree, RN seeking a higher degree in nursing, RN seeking a postgraduate degree in nursing and the ‘Rising Star’ scholarship for a student seeking their initial RN degree.

Members of the SAENA receive quarterly, informative newsletters, meeting notifications, educational calendars and increased opportunities for public education, awareness, and volunteerism. We hope you remain a member and invite a peer to join you in your journey.
